From Cardiff to Brussels, the AntifragiCity team met in September to review our progress, align our plans, and prepare for the next phase of our work toward antifragile urban mobility.
On 7-8 September 2026, we held our 3rd General Assembly in Cardiff, UK. Representatives from across the AntifragiCity consortium gathered to discuss key achievements and challenges, and explore how our different areas of work are coming together to help cities better understand and respond to disruption, and improve over time, all while preparing for our upcoming Review Meeting in Brussels.
Our 3rd General Assembly in Cardiff
Over two days, we discussed our technical developments, demonstration activities, and overall progress. Key topics included:
- Urban mobility crises, social acceptance, and antifragile framework
- Our Mobility Triage Handbook and Decision Support System
- Antifragile mobility model based on control theory
- SUMA, our Simulator for Urban Mobility Antifragility
- Demonstration sites, Living Labs and SUMA validation
- Exploitation and sustainability, exploring the value propositions of our solutions
- Dissemination, communication and community engagement
We also took the opportunity to record interviews with some of our partners. These conversations will offer a closer look at the technical work across AntifragiCity, the challenges we are addressing, and the solutions we are developing. We will share them as part of our AntifragiCity in Action series.
A big thank you to our colleagues at Cardiff University for hosting the meeting and bringing the consortium together!

From Cardiff to Brussels: our first Review Meeting
On 22 September 2026, we met again in Brussels for our first Review Meeting, bringing together representatives from all 13 partners across 8 countries. The meeting gave us an opportunity to review our progress and connect our research, technical developments, and real-world demonstrations, drawing on the expertise of the entire consortium.

With our General Assembly and Review Meeting completed, we are moving into the next phase with clearer priorities and plenty to build on. We remain focused on developing and testing approaches that help cities strengthen their urban mobility systems.
